About Bharat Award

Being a jury member of The prestigious Bharat Award has been itself a rare privilege and opportunity bestowed upon me by Xpress Publications and Mr Gopakumar Radhakrishnan. While I embarked upon the work I was amazed and thrilled by the quality of entries we received. Most of the stories were wonderful to say the least. Each had its own flavour.

As a jury member I found it a great opportunity to read stories coming from different parts of India and abroad. As stories they were gems and at one point it had been really very difficult to choose the best three. The competition had been tough. We juries had trying time too. But we were all very pleased to find such a beautiful array of tales and stories.

The Bharat Award has already turned into an institution by itself. I consider myself honoured to be a part of such an award.

About Bharat Award

it was to an amazing world of multi-hued perceptions on life and sedimented experience that Gopakumar Radhakrishnan ushered me in by making me one the Juries of the esteemed Bharat Award.

It was a great learning, growing process. I enjoyed to the full, the passing shadows that fell on life, things, bondings, break ups, reach out moments, and of course on those misty, mossy memory lanes...

In fact at a point I started doubting the relevance of grading since each carried a pristine narrative flow of its own. But of course some emerged outstanding in the final pooling and shortlisting.

Kudos to this great venture by PoiesisOnline which fosters creativity and feel good factor not only to the participants but to the juries as well.

In my study years in Mississippi I had taken writing and selling short story courses. I can tell you quite strongly these amateur writers have a long way to go as fifteen hundred words covering expression is not an easy task. I wish them all well and my message to convey is there are more lessons to learn.  I wish you all the best and hope that greater things follow.
